The Elusive Bobcat

The last few years in Yellowstone one of the most sought-after subjects in winter are the bobcat(s) along the Madison River. There's supposed to be four of them now, and they patrol the riverbanks hunting for waterfowl. Getting to them requires a snowcoach trip, so access is somewhat limited. I had tried four times previously and finally, while helping Jess Lee with some workshops last week, we found one of the cats. They are remarkably tolerant (this is with a 70-400 lens), and we were this one for about two hours. Coyotes howling across the river finally scared him into the woods, but I was pleased with the images (see Bobcat Gallery).
